How to apply and show off?

First, you will need to send a video containing:

  • 8 extracts of 8 different songs from 8 different genres (Salsa, Merengue, Vallenato, Bachata, Reggaeton, Cumbia, Bolero, and Chachachá)
  • These extracts should last no longer than 30 to 40 seconds each.
  • In the video, you need to make sure to show your group’s valuable skills and strengths.

Who can come on board for these types of gigs?

The profile we are looking for:

  • You must be a strong sight-reader.
  • Have experience with in-ears.
  • Master skills with genres such as jazz, pop, rock, funk, Latin. 
  • Be a good improviser with your instrument.

If you are a pianist:

  • Be prepared to skillfully handle sounds in synthesizers and other keyboards.
  • Have solo sets or accompany singers on acoustic pianos.

 If your instrument is a tenor or alto sax:

  • Play the flute and the clarinet. Don’t forget to pack them in your luggage!

 For bass players:

  • If you play the electric bass and Double Bass, you will have more options to sign off a contract, there are cruises where Double bass players are highly needed.

Latin Bands

The format of Latin trios or quartets may vary as follows:

Trio: Voice, percussion, piano.

        Voice, piano, bass.

Quartet: Voice, percussion, piano, bass.

        Voice, wind (trumpet, sax, trombone) piano, percussion.

 

NOTE: To these formats, you must add multitrack or sequences. Only in the case of quartets, such sound supports may be ignored if the group does not need them.
